Good morning! If you were here having coffee with me, I'd be having my third cup of coffee today! :)
I got up early this morning - yay for me (cause that hasn't been happening). I found a cool idea from twitter called #HelloMornings - although I did not tweet this morning, the idea definitely helped get me up! I used my iPhone as my alarm, and then as soon as it went off, I opened up my bible app You Version and started reading. It helped me to wake up and stay up! It also helps that my automatic coffee maker was set - so one chapter and I got up and got my coffee!
(Did you know that You Version has an audio bible at it's web site? We LOVE it and have been using it to read the bible daily for school, Abigail loves it because it is dramatized and really enjoys listening.)
I'm also planning to read the entire bible through in 90 days (I've seen so many people doing it, and it gives me hope!). It seems like a big task, but this morning I read the first 11 chapters of Genesis, and tonight I'll finish out the remaining 5. I really want to get purposeful about living habitually in the Spirit, instead of riding the roller coaster - up a couple days, down the next.
But I say, walk and live [habitually] in the [Holy] Spirit [responsive to and controlled and guided by the Spirit]; then you will certainly not gratify the cravings and desires of the flesh (of human nature without God). Galatians 5:16 AMP
Today is our early morning, both of the kids go to their schools for the day. On these mornings I do breakfast-a-go-go:
How do you handle getting everyone out of the house on early mornings? This helps us because we eat breakfast in the car - today was peanut butter and jelly on raisin bread and bananas.
This is our first year homeschooling, and I can tell you, we have not actually time changed. yet. It's hard when you don't have to get up! But now the kids are not going to bed until late. Sigh. So I'm going to plan to get myself up early, and get the kids out of bed before 8am...you'll pray for me right!
Hope you have a great day! I'd love to hear from you if you stopped by here or @alliflwr!
Thanks so much for the shout-out! :-D
ReplyDeleteBe sure to take baby-steps when starting a new adventure... jumping in head first can be overwhelming and lead to burnout.
Thanks Ashley - it's so true, thanks for the wisdom. I'm not going to be too hard on myself if I fall behind...but #HelloMornings definitely seems like the answer I've been looking for!
ReplyDeletewhat a great idea...I think I may do that...great way to wake up!!!
