Back to school - Bible time

We are officially back to school! Feels good, I was over the loosey-goosey schedule! Ha, who'd have thought!

This week I thought I'd feature each subject, like a day in the life but spread out.

Today we started with Bible. We are reading through the book of Luke, one chapter per school day, today was Luke 16. While I read, Abby colored a picture of the rich man and Lazarus.

Then it's write and illustrate our memory verse, this week John 1:12. I use MS Publisher to create the traceable verse each week.

At the end of the week, we will journal about the bible chapters we read this week, usually a drawing of her favorite story.

How do your kids study the bible?

  1. we have a daily devotional that teaches kids about self control, the topics usually prompt some sort of questions or "confessions" from my 4 yr old and we think about what God wants to see from us, look up any additional verses that might help. I try my best (try) to always give answers straight from The Bible so I do not mess up the message with my own notions. we have been doing one memory verse per week now in 2011, we are pretty pleased :)
